The third eye symbolizes the gate that leads to the inner realm and spaces of higher consciousness. In spirituality, the third eye often symbolizes a state of enlightenment.

This is an original 5" x 7” gouche and watercolor painting on Arches paper with hand-deckled edges.

As I create watercolor paintings, I always use a tester sheet for color testing and practice brush strokes. I love the ways these sheets look at the end of my process so I started collecting them. One of these test sheets is the background to this vivid third eye painting, done in gouche.
